This is a reminder that Noah Perlut of the University of New England
is to be speaking Monday evening (March 10) at 7 PM in the Mayer Room
of the Howe Library in Hanover, NH, on "The Influence of Agricultural
Management on Grassland Songbird Ecology and Evolution". This program,
cosponsored by the Mascoma Chapter of New Hampshire Audubon and the
Hanover Conservancy, is free and open to the public. Dr. Perlut has
conducted detailed studies on the effects of mowing schedules on the
nesting success of grassland birds in New England. Birders frequently
have questions about agricultural practices and grassland birds, and
tomorrow's program will be a great opportunity to learn more about
this topic.
