This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, November 7th, 
2012.



3 AMERICAN WHITE PELICANS were seen at Concord Point in Rye on November 3rd.



7 FORSTER'S TERNS and 2 COMMON TERNS were seen in the Hampton Harbor area on 
November 4th.



A male EURASIAN WIGEON was seen near a flock of 32 AMERICAN WIGEON on Great 
Bay on November 6th.



A YELLOW-BREASTED CHAT was discovered at a private residence at South Mill 
Pond in Portsmouth on October 23rd, and has been seen repeatedly since then, 
most recently on November 4th.



An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen in North Hampton on November 4th.



A DICKCISSEL was reported from Warren Farm in Barrington on November 1st.



An ICELAND GULL was seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on 
November 4th, and 1 was seen in Derry on October 31st.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen in North Sandwich on November 1st, 1 was seen in 
Pittsfield on the 2nd, 1 was seen in Westmoreland on the 5th, and 1 was seen 
in Stratham on the 6th.



There have been a number of PINE GROSBEAKS reported from several locations 
during the past week, including: more than 25 at Hatch Corner in Plymouth on 
November 7th, 9 along Smith Bridge Road in Plymouth on the 7th, 7 in Hanover 
on the 6th, 3 at NH Audubon's Pondicherry Wildlife Sanctuary in Jefferson on 
the 5th, and 1 in Concord on the 4th.



EVENING GROSBEAK sightings during the past week included 9 in East Derry on 
November 7th, 2 in Barrington on the 7th, 5 in Jefferson on the 6th, 18 in 
Lempster on the 5th, 10 in Milton on the 5th, 1 in Hancock on the 3rd, and 1 
in Portsmouth on the 2nd.



A RED CROSSBILL was reported from Concord on November 4th.



A flock of 12 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS was seen in North Sandwich on November 
1st, 2 were seen in Concord on the 4th, and over 30 were seen at Odiorne 
Point State Park in Rye on the 6th.



A flock of 50 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS was seen feeding in ornamental fruit trees 
on the Plymouth State University campus on November 6th and 7th.



3 COMMON REDPOLLS were seen in Campton on November 7th, 4 were seen in 
Hanover on the 6th, 3 were seen in Rye on the 4th, and 1 was seen in 
Westmoreland on the 4th.



3 NORTHERN SHOVELERS were seen on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale on 
November 1st, and 2 were seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on 
the 6th.



A GADWALL was seen in Meadow Pond in Hampton on November 4th.



A "BLUE" SNOW GOOSE was seen in a farm field in Greenland on November 4th.



12 HORNED GREBES were seen on Lake Winnipesaukee in Moultonborough on 
November 5th.



6 RUDDY DUCKS were seen on Granite Lake in Munsonville on November 1st, and 
8 were seen in Eel Pond in Rye on the 3rd.



48 BLACK SCOTERS and 12 RUDDY DUCKS were seen at Turtle Pond in Concord on 
November 5th.



72 BLACK SCOTERS, 9 SURF SCOTERS, and 3 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were seen on 
Cherry Pond at NH Audubon's Pondicherry Wildlife Sanctuary in Jefferson on 
November 5th, and 12 GREATER YELLOWLEGS were seen here on the 4th.



10 BLACK SCOTERS were seen at Willard Pond in Antrim, and over 40 were seen 
flying in Hinsdale, all on November 5th.



4 LESSER SCAUP, a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER, a BLACK SCOTER, a LONG-TAILED DUCK, 
27 BUFFLEHEADS, and 6 RUDDY DUCKS were seen on Spofford Lake in Chesterfield 
on November 3rd.



125 SNOW BUNTINGS, 2 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, and 2 "IPSWICH" SAVANNAH SPARROWS 
were seen at Hampton Beach State Park on November 6th.



80 AMERICAN PIPITS were seen at Moore Fields on Route 155A in Durham on 
November 1st, and a flock of 40 was seen in Westmoreland on the 5th.



Over 100 HORNED LARKS were seen at the Nashua Airport on November 4th.



Late-migrating warblers seen during the past week included a BLACKPOLL 
WARBLER in Concord on November 4th, a BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER in North 
Hampton on the 4th, a NASHVILLE WARBLER in Hampton on the 3rd, and a 
NORTHERN PARULA in Stratham on the 2nd.



A SPRUCE GROUSE was seen near Little Cherry Pond at NH Audubon's Pondicherry 
Wildlife Sanctuary in Jefferson on November 4th.



A NORTHERN SAW-WHET OWL was seen in Concord on November 4th.



RAPTOR migration still continues with over 12,260 raptors(including a 
SWAINSON'S HAWK on September 10th, and 8 GOLDEN EAGLES since October 15th) 
already reported from the Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory in 
Peterborough, and 6,952 raptors(including a BLACK VULTURE on September 21st, 
and 2 GOLDEN EAGLES and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK since October 6th) reported from 
the Carter Hill Observatory in Concord, all since August 25th. The official 
counting has ended.
