This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, November 7th, 
2016.



A WHITE WAGTAIL was found in Rye on November 2nd, and then was relocated in 
Hampton on the 3rd and 4th, but has not been seen since then.



A WESTERN GREBE was seen off of Ragged Neck in Rye on November 3rd.



A WESTERN KINGBIRD was seen near the north end of Wallis Sands in Rye on 
October 22nd, has been seen regularly since then, and was last reported on 
November 6th.



A male EURASIAN WIGEON continues to be seen in the southeast part of Great 
Bay in Greenland, and was last reported on November 6th.



A LONG-EARRED OWL was seen in coastal Seabrook on November 2nd.



A LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL was seen in coastal Rye on November 5th.



A PECTORAL SANDPIPER was seen at Rye Harbor State Park on October 27th, 
28th, 29th, 30th, and November 2nd and 5th, and 1 was seen in Hampton Marsh 
on the 5th.



An AMERICAN GOLDEN-PLOVER was seen with several BLACK-BELLIED PLOVERS at 
Ragged Neck in Rye on November 4th, 5th, and 6th, and 1 was seen in Hampton 
Marsh on the 5th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at the Community Gardens on Birch Street in 
Concord on November 2nd, and 5th, 1 was seen at Brown Farm off Middle Road 
in Hancock on the 2nd, 1 was seen at Pickering Ponds in Rochester on the 
4th, 1 was seen at Hawkin’s Farm in Salem on the 5th, and 1 was seen off 
Tilton Street in Nashua on the 5th.



A DICKCISSEL was seen at Rye Harbor State Park on November 3rd.



An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen at Brown Farm in Hancock on November 2nd, 
and 1 was seen at Spring Meadow Farm in Hillsborough on the 4th.



A flock of 11 COMMON REDPOLLS was seen in Errol, 1 was seen at the Exeter 
Wastewater Treatment Plant, and 1 was seen in Concord, all on November 5th.



8 PINE GROSBEAKS were reported from the summit of Pack Monadnock in 
Peterborough on November 4th.



2 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were reported from Stevens Hill Road in Nottingham on 
November 6th.



A pair of EVENING GROSBEAKS was reported from North Conway on November 1st.



A flock of 12 RED CROSSBILLS was reported from Pittsfield on November 2nd, 2 
were reported from Carter Hill in Concord on November 5th, and 2 were 
reported from Pack Monadnock in Peterborough on the 1st and 6th.



A flock of 55 SNOW BUNTINGS was reported from Rye Harbor State Park on 
November 1st, and a flock of 33 AMERICAN PIPITS was seen in Newport on the 
5th.



3 RED-BREASTED MERGANSERS, 3 SURF SCOTERS, 7 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS, 9 BLACK 
SCOTERS, 8 LONG-TAILED DUCKS, and 7 PIED-BILLED GREBES were seen on Cherry 
Pond in Jefferson during the past week.



4 NORTHERN PINTAILS were seen on Lake Massabesic in Manchester on October 
31st, 4 were seen on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale on November 2nd, and 
2 were seen in Concord on the 5th.



Late-migrating WOOD WARBLERS reported during the past week, included: PINE 
WARBLER, COMMON YELLOWTHROAT, PALM WARBLER, NASHVILLE WARBLER, and BLACKPOLL 
WARBLER.



There were reports of LINCOLN’S SPARROW, FOX SPARROW, CHIPPING SPARROW, and 
“IPSWICH” SAVANNAH SPARROW during the past week.



RAPTOR migration is under way with migrating raptors being counted daily at 
the Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration Observatory in Peterborough, with over 
13,350 raptors tallied (including 3 GOLDEN EAGLES, and a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK) 
since September 1st, and at the Carter Hill Observatory in Concord, with 
over 6,700 raptors counted (including a ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK, and 2 GOLDEN 
EAGLES) since September 1st. Be sure to visit these New Hampshire Audubon 
staffed observatories!
