A Dunlin found this morning by Bill Shepard at Pompy in Norwich eluded two other observers and me in a mid to late morning search but was seen again for extended observation in mid afternoon by Ed Hack and me while looking from Old Bridge Road.

Although, according to eBird records shown in bar graphs, Dunlin have been found as early as the beginning of April in the state of Vermont, today’s sighting is over a month earlier than the previous earliest spring record for Windsor County.

Thanks to Bill for putting out an alert about this bird.

George Clark
Norwich, VT
