A male Golden-Winged singing and feeding in the sun this morning. We had
regular, fantastic views of this beautiful bird.
Location: in a dry, former beaver-pond area approx. 100-200m north of
Tucker Hill Road, on Norwich Fire District land. Park to the side of
Tucker Hill Rd. opposite #133, by the corner of Bragg Hill Rd., and
follow faint trail back to the marsh. Wear boots, walk to the middle
across wet areas, then listen for the buzzy song. Finding the bird may
take some patience. Local guide (Spencer) would be happy to help anyone
find it this afternoon or tomorrow morning; call or come by ~7am tomorrow.
Also there this morning, among other usual warblers, were: Broad-Winged
Hawk, Pileated Woodpecker
Doug & Spencer Hardy, Norwich
