As I was walking out of the Norwich Post Office parking lot onto Elm Street
about 3:15 this afternoon (Jan. 6), extended vocalizing by a Tufted Titmouse
caught my attention. The titmouse was calling close to, and clearly in response
to, a handsome Barred Owl silently perched in a tree by the south boundary
towards the rear of the Norwich Historical Society property located at the
corner of Main (Route 5) and Elm Streets.

I've never previously found a Barred Owl so near the business center of Norwich
village.
