Ecology in action here today. We enjoyed watching a juvenile Mourning
Dove during breakfast, apparently fresh from the nest. During the
afternoon, screaming Jays momentarily preceded a Cooper's Hawk rocketing
through. Fresh-looking feathers found scattered about look suspiciously
like those of a juvenile mourning dove, subsequently not seen.
Not many sights prettier than yellow-rumps amidst apple blossoms!
