Late yesterday afternoon, 4 phoebes fledged from their nest above the door to my
house.  I watched 3 of them fly to nearby trees.  I found the 4th one in my
house!!  (Apparently it flew in through the door when I opened it to go
outside.)  The 4th one spent the next half hour or so calling for its parent,
which came to coax it out of its hiding place.  Each year I'm amazed by how well
the fledglings can fly away, considering they don't spend time outside of the
nest before they fly away.
