This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, November 26th, 
2013.



Several SNOWY OWLS have been reported in New Hampshire during the past week 
including 1 in Merrimack at the Kollsman Sports Fields Complex located 
across from the Budweiser Plant on November 25th, 1 in Hampton at 
Bicentennial Park on the 25th, 1 migrating offshore in Hampton on the 24th, 
1 in Rye on the 23rd, and 1 in Hampton Marsh seen from Landing Road on the 
22nd.



A dark-morph ROUGH-LEGGED HAWK was seen migrating south over Hampton Marsh 
on November 24th.



A GREATER WHITE FRONTED GOOSE was seen among approximately 250 CANADA GEESE 
from Roberts Road in Rollinsford on November 25th.



A single BRANT was seen at Ragged Neck in Rye on November 24th.



An ICELAND GULL was seen from Bicentennial Park in Hampton on November 24th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen at the field near the end of Short Road in 
Newington on November 23rd.



A late-migrating SEMIPALMATED PLOVER was seen at Seabrook Beach on November 
24th.



A PINE WARBLER and 5 YELLOW-RUMPED WARBLERS were seen in Rye on November 
24th.



9 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at Mount Sunapee State Beach on November 23rd, 12 
were seen in Grafton on the 22nd, and 40 were reported from the coast on the 
24th.



7 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were seen in Westmoreland on November 23rd, and 4 
AMERICAN PIPITS were seen there on the 25th.



A female BLACK SCOTER, 3 COMMON GOLDENEYES, and 20 HOODED MERGANSERS were 
seen on Powder Mill Pond in Hancock on November 21st.



A female GREATER SCAUP, 5 COMMON GOLDENEYES, 8 COMMON MERGANSERS, and 93 
HOODED MERGANSERS were seen on Northwood Lake on November 21st.



24 BUFFLEHEADS were seen on Jenness Pond in Northwood on November 21st.



Nearly 200 RUDDY DUCKS, 9 LESSER SCAUP, and 2 GREATER SCAUP were counted on 
Canobie Lake in Salem on November 22nd.



86 COMMON MERGANSERS and 32 HOODED MERGANSERS were reported from Spofford 
Lake in Chesterfield on November 23rd, and 26 COMMON MERGANSERS were seen on 
Kezar Lake in Sutton on the 22nd.
