This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, July 16th,
2013.
A LITTLE GULL, a LEAST TERN, 20 ROSEATE TERNS, 3 PIPING PLOVERS, and 2
BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seen in Hampton Harbor on July 13th.
An ACADIAN FLYCATCHER was seen north of Horseshoe Pond in Concord on July
14th. To try to see this bird, follow the railroad track and then the river
path north of Horseshoe Pond – the bird has been seen foraging in and around
a large tree at the foot of the railroad embankment, beside a large meadow.
3 BICKNELL’S THRUSHES were reported from the top of Cannon Mountain on July
12th, 6 BICKNELL’S THRUSHES and 2 BOREAL CHICKADEES were reported from the
top of Mount Moosilauke on the 13th, and 2 BICKNELL’S THRUSHES and an
AMERICAN PIPIT were reported from the Mount Washington Auto Road on the
14th.
2 NELSON'S SPARROWS were reported from Philbrick Marsh (sometimes called
townline cove marsh) in North Hampton on July 13th.
A pair of ORCHARD ORIOLES was seen along with a fledgling on July 15th.
A RED-THROATED LOON, 21 COMMON LOONS, a RED-BREASTED MERGANSER, 22 BLACK
SCOTERS, and 8 WHITE-WINGED SCOTERS were seen along the coast on July 13th.
