This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Thursday, November 6th, 
2008.



A male RUFOUS HUMMINGBIRD was discovered visiting a feeder in Plaistow on 
October 29th, and was last reported on November 3rd.



A SNOWY OWL was seen on Mount Washington on November 5th, and one was seen 
at Ragged Neck in Rye on November 2nd.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen at Pitcher Mountain in Stoddard on November 2nd, and 
2 GOLDEN EAGLES were reported from the Pack Monadnock Raptor Migration 
Observatory in Peterborough on October 31st.



A DICKCISSEL was seen with a group of HOUSE SPARROWS at a house just north 
of Bicentennial Park in Hampton on November 2nd and again on the 3rd.



A GRASSHOPPER SPARROW was seen in the shrubs along the drainage ditch on 
Cornwell Drive in the Krif Road area in Keene on October 31st.



A SNOW GOOSE was seen in Pudding Pond in North Conway on November 4th. It 
was with over 100 CANADA GEESE.



7 PINE GROSBEAKS were seen at Pitcher Mountain in Stoddard on November 4th.



300 SNOW BUNTINGS and a LAPLAND LONGSPUR were seen at Hampton Beach State 
Park on November 2nd.



50 HORNED LARKS and 2 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at Moore Fields on Route 155A 
in Durham on November 4th. 100 AMERICAN PIPITS were seen here on the 1st.



40 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS, 60 HORNED LARKS, 20 AMERICAN PIPITS, and 2 SNOW 
BUNTINGS were seen on Morrill Farm in Penacook on November 1st.



9 SNOW BUNTINGS were seen at the Keene Airport on November 1st.



3 RUSTY BLACKBIRDS were seen in Jefferson on November 4th.



3 PECTORAL SANDPIPERS were seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on November 
2nd.



2 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS and a PURPLE SANDPIPER were seen at Plaice Cove in 
Hampton on November 2nd.



400 BLACK SCOTERS were seen on Great Bay, 16 were seen on Wilson Pond in 
Swanzey, and 80 were seen on Cherry Pond in Jefferson, all on November 1st.



320 RING-NECKED DUCKS, 17 RUDDY DUCKS, 20 AMERICAN COOT, and 4 PIED-BILLED 
GREBES were all seen at Powwow Pond in Kingston on November 5th.



150 HOODED MERGANSERS, a LONG-TAILED DUCK, 15 BLACK SCOTERS, and 19 
RING-NECKED DUCKS were seen at Long Pond in Concord on November 1st.



12 RUDDY DUCKS, and an AMERICAN COOT were reported from the Exeter 
Wastewater Treatment Plant, and an AMERICAN COOT was seen at Eel Pond in 
Rye, all on November 4th.



A female AMERICAN WIGEON was reported from Lake Wentworth in Wolfeboro on 
November 4th.



WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILL sightings during the past week included 30 at Willard 
Pond in Antrim on November 5th, 8 at NH Audubon's McLane Center in Concord 
on the 4th, 35 at Pitcher Mountain in Stoddard on the 4th, 30 in Campton on 
the 3rd, 4 at Hebron Marsh in Hebron on the 3rd, and a few in Jefferson on 
the 3rd and 4th.



An AMERICAN REDSTART was seen in Concord on November 1st. A PRAIRIE WARBLER 
was seen at Great Bay Farm in Greenland on November 1st. A NASHVILLE WARBLER 
was seen in Hampton on November 2nd. A BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER was seen 
in Exeter on November 1st. 2 PALM WARBLERS were seen in Concord on November 
2nd, and one was seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on the 1st. A 
BLACKPOLL WARBLER was seen at West Foss Farm in Durham on November 2nd, one 
was seen in Hampton on the 2nd, one was seen in Seabrook on the 1st, and one 
was seen at the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant on the 1st.



A VIRGINIA RAIL was seen at the fields behind the Post Office on Loudon Road 
in Concord on November 1st.



A BALTIMORE ORIOLE was seen at Horseshoe Pond in Concord on November 1st.



An EASTERN MEADOWLARK was seen at Awcomin Marsh in Rye on November 3rd.



A possible BREWER'S BLACKBIRD was reported from Haverhill on November 1st.
