This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, April 24th, 
2012.



A GOLDEN EAGLE was seen migrating north in Merrimack on April 18th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE was seen on Mount Evans in Strafford on April 20th.



A NORTHERN SHRIKE and 6 FISH CROWS were reported from the Webster Wildlife 
and Natural Area in Kingston on April 19th.



5 GLOSSY IBIS were reported from the Exeter Wastewater Treatment Plant, and 
2 were seen in Hampton Marsh, all on April 19th.



An AMERICAN BITTERN was seen at NH Audubon's Chase Sanctuary in Hopkinton on 
April 21st.



4 UPLAND SANDPIPERS, 3 EASTERN MEADOWLARKS, and a HORNED LARK were reported 
from Pease International Tradeport on April 21st.



5 LESSER YELLOWLEGS were seen in Rochester, and 2 GREATER YELLOWLEGS were 
seen in Lee, all on April 24th.



4 VIRGINIA RAILS were reported from a marsh near the Portsmouth Hospital, 
and 1 was heard on Longmarsh Road in Durham, all on April 21st.



20 GREEN-WINGED TEAL were reported from Lubberland Creek near Great Bay on 
April 22nd.



22 DOUBLE-CRESTED CORMORANTS were seen on the Connecticut River near Hanover 
on April 22nd.



A YELLOW WARBLER was seen in Rye on April 24th.



3 NORTHERN WATERTHRUSHES, and 2 EVENING GROSBEAKS were reported from 
Penacook on April 21st.



A NORTHERN WATERTHRUSH was seen in Kingston and 1 was seen in East Kingston, 
both on April 21st.



15 LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES were reported from various locations during the 
past week.



A PURPLE MARTIN, a CLIFF SWALLOW, a BANK SWALLOW, 7 NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED 
SWALLOWS, 100 BARN SWALLOWS, and 200 TREE SWALLOWS were seen at the Ashland 
Wastewater Treatment Plant on April 23rd.



Early arrivals reported during the past week included several of each of 
BLACK-THROATED GREEN WARBLER, BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER, BARN SWALLOW, 
NORTHERN ROUGH-WINGED SWALLOW, BLUE-HEADED VIREO, HOUSE WREN, 
WHIP-POOR-WILL, BLUE-GRAY GNATCATCHER, BROWN THRASHER, EASTERN TOWHEE, and 
FIELD SPARROW.



BROAD-WINGED HAWKS were reported from many locations during the past week.



A pair of PEREGRINE FALCONS is nesting in Manchester and has already begun
