In preparation for our annual bird walk this Saturday or Sunday depending upon the weather, Janet and I went for a delightful walk with Connie Snyder this morning. Highlights included a beautiful short range view of a yellow warbler in its annual spot down on the Ompompanoosuc. Then we saw a Spotted Sandpiper walking along the edge of the river. We heard a Kingfisher and Veery. But most interesting for me was identifying three American Pipets in our field, walking along the pea rows. I had seen these birds several times over the past week but had been unsuccessful in identifying them.

By the way we had a visit at the feeder by an Indigo Bunting two days ago.
Tim
