UVB reports appear to be increasing in frequency lately, which is great
to see!

Besides general interest value, these will be helpful for our local
Christmas count, coming up on the 31st. In case anyone missed the
announcements, there are a variety of ways to get involved:

   1. Contact the leaders for our local Hanover-Norwich "count circle"
which extends into Lebanon and Thetford, as it is 15 miles (24 km)
in diameter. You can either help in a group traveling count
(details below), or keep track at your own feeders - if arranged
      with the leaders in advance.
   2. Join Chris Rimmer that Friday for a short, guided walk. All
sightings will contribute to the count. Details below.
   3. Learn more: <http://birds.audubon.org/christmas-bird-count>

And please keep submitting UVB reports!

The annual Hanover-Norwich Christmas Bird Count will be held this year
on Friday, 31 December. Meet at 7:00 AM in front of Hopkins Center for
route assignments and gather at Everything But Anchovies after dark to
warm up and count down.

Also:
A bird walk led by Chris Rimmer from 8:30 to 10:00 AM on Friday December
31, 2010, will provide a last opportunity to take part in the Norwich
2010 Birding Quest program. This last program of the year is free and
open to Norwich residents and others. Participants should meet at 8:30
AM in front of Dan & Whit's on Main Street in Norwich. Dress warmly,
wear footgear suitable for walking on fairly level surfaces, and bring
binoculars if available. Children accompanied by an adult are welcome.
This walk is to be held regardless of weather conditions, but be advised
that precipitation, fog, or high winds can reduce the number of birds
found. Information on the kinds of birds and their numbers encountered
on this walk are to be included in the results for the annual
Hanover-Norwich Christmas Bird Count held that day.
