I second the thanks to Spencer and Chris for the alert. I stopped by the spot
this afternoon on my way home from work (after first trying the flats where the
interstate crosses near Hogback Rd., without seeing anything of note except a
first-of-the-year Bobolink), and the oriole was exactly in the spot advertised:
in the small trees lining the river, across the road from the quonset hut. I
wonder whether he'll stay around.
