This morning I had great looks at a singing Northern Parula at Mink Brook Nature Preserve in Hanover. Things were fairly quiet there overall, but another highlight was my first Black-and-white Warbler of the spring. I also had an osprey fly overhead, headed north.

Earlier this morning I saw my first Chimney Swift of the spring, over the Dartmouth College Green.

Yesterday I heard a Red Crossbill calling from tall white pines at Oak Hill in Hanover. I did not record the call, but I did hear back from Matt Young at the Cornell Lab about the birds I recorded at Mink Brook back on April 9. He says they were likely Type 10, but he could not rule out Type 7. Interesting.

Things are happening!
