Desperate for signs of Spring with 3 feet of snow on the ground here. Saw a
pair of Evening Grosbeaks Monday Mar. 24 at my feeder- first time for
several months. Today, saw 4 pairs of Common Mergansers and a pair of
Mallards on the Ottaquechee River between Marshland Farm and Quechee town.
Wonderful sight- neat to see them in pairs.

P.S. Also saw half-grown fawn and mother near my house- a frequent visitor
in fall, summer and spring. Have not seen all winter. Very welcome sight-
walking on top of the snow crust. (Yes, it's still frozen... :-(( )
