I have been reading about the redpoll invasion from Illinois (I've been in
Illinois, I'm sure the redpolls invaded from Canada).  When we returned home
an hour or so ago our Etna yard and feeders were filled with them.  So I
guess they have really arrived.

We were spending Christmas with grandkids and parents so not really birding.
But walks took us past a pile of goldfinch feathers with a northern harrier
nearby.  And then a great view of a red-tailed hawk on a tree near a busy
