This morning, open water at the Ompompanoosuc River mouth held a nice
assortment of waterfowl, including 2 drake N. Shovelers, 19 Wood Ducks,
15 Am. Black Ducks, 86 Mallards, and 4 male Ring-necked Ducks. Three
adult Ring-billed Gulls were on the ice nearby.
At Campbell Flats a lone Rusty Blackbird was singing its squeaky-hinge
song in full view along the road.
Oh, and that hybrid grebe I found yesterday? Nowhere to be seen, though
the Horned Grebe was still at Kendall Station.
