This is New Hampshire Audubon’s Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, July 23rd, 
2013.



A flock of 3 MARBLED GODWITS and 12 WHIMBRELS were seen in Hampton Harbor on 
July 22nd.



2 MISSISSIPPI KITES were seen from Gonet Drive in Newmarket on July 18th and 
22nd.



An ACADIAN FLYCATCHER continues to be seen north of Horseshoe Pond in 
Concord and was last reported on July 21st. To try to see this bird, follow 
the railroad track and then the river path north of Horseshoe Pond – the 
bird has been seen foraging in and around a large tree at the foot of the 
railroad embankment, beside a large meadow.



3 LEAST TERNS and 3 BLACK-CROWNED NIGHT-HERONS were seem in Hampton Marsh on 
July 21st,



A LESSER YELLOWLEGS was reported from World End Pond in Salem on July 18th, 
and 27 were seen on the coast on the 20th.



2 RUDDY TURNSTONES were seen on the coast on July 20th.



A BLUE-WINGED TEAL was seen in Hampton Marsh on July 21st.



A PIED-BILLED GREBE was seen at Pickering Ponds in Rochester on July 17th.



A pair of PEREGRINE FALCONS was seen in downtown Concord on July 20th, 1 was 
seen in Hampton on the 20th, and 1 was seen in Salem on the 21st.



A family of 6 MERLINS was reported from Spofford Lake in Chesterfield on 
July 17th, a family of 6 was reported from Franconia on the 21st, and a 
single MERLIN was seen in Ashland on the 21st.



An ORCHARD ORIOLE was reported from Durham on July 19th.



69 SNOWY EGRETS were tallied on the coast on July 20th.
