Our house sits across the Conn River from a sand and gravel operation on the VT side. We noticed dozens of bank swallows flying low over the river and happened to search the tall bankings of the gravel operation only to observe hundreds of nesting holes. As the topography of this hillside changes every year it's difficult to determine how many are new this year or whether any could have survived from prior years.
