Does anyone know where ducks and geese go before and during a thunder and lightning event, a storm like today? I am thinking especially of lakes. Do they actually get out of the water, through which lightning currents can travel, or just cluster near the shore or else move to smaller waterways like little streams?

My experience watching lakes and waterways around storms is that fish seem to go to the bottom and no birds are in view, but I haven't made a study of it.
