The Hanover golf course merlins are thriving. There is now a family of them and
they are very active.

I've seen them in the same location for the past couple of weeks - including
this morning (Saturday) - so thought I'd give everyone a heads up in case you
want to see them.

For those who know the golf course, they are mostly seen in the row of pine
trees between the eighth hole and the tenth fairway.

For those who don't know the course here are some failproof directions:

Leave Hanover going north on the Lyme Rd (Rte 10) toward Lyme. In less than a
half mile you will begin passing the golf course on your left.

There is a round about near the end of the course. As you come out of the round
about you will see a Fire and Police Station on the left. Park across the
street from the Station.

Looking west you will see the tenth tee and fairway. Walk down the left side of
the fairway about a hundred yards to a row of pines. That's where the merlins
are.

As an added treat, check out the golf course pond on your right as you drive
back toward town. There are two broods of ducklings in that algae covered
water. They are often on the north bank on the fairway and hustle to their
mothers as a golf cart approaches.

Mike
