We are hearing so many stories of swimming squirrels. Also, we’ve seen a sharp-shinned hawk in the yard several times in the last week. I believe that is the smallish hawk we saw sailing back and forth over an object in the lake about 30 feet from shore. It flapped and coasted, back and forth, dipping down almost like it would fall in the water. After at least 10 passes, it finally grabbed the object up (with a splash) and flew away with it trailing from it’s feet almost over my head, and yes it sure looked like it had a squirrel or chipmunk. A sizable load. From the water!!
