Between the Connecticut River valley and our house at 1200 feet
elevation, snow depth increases rather dramatically at the moment.
Perhaps for this reason we haven't seen any new arrivals yet, which in
recent years have shown up about the same time as in town.

About 30 minutes ago, 42 Bohemian waxwings were perched in a poplar tree
by our house. Until now, we hadn't seen this species here all winter.
