Cynthia-
I have been seeing a few flocks of ww crossbills just showing up on our
high elevation study plots on Stratton Mountain in the last 2 weeks.
Pine siskins are also arriving. There is a moderate cone crop of fir and
some spruce that will be mature soon so they have something to eat.
Siskins have been feeding on weed seeds on the ski slopes.

I would suggest putting your bird sightings into Vermont eBird to help
track these interesting irruptions of crossbills.
