I am pleased to report that my yard is bustling with barn swallows. We
had four nests fledge, and at least one second brood is started. We
have a woodshed - which we purposely waited to rebuild until after the
barn swallows departed last year - and an open barn. However, over the
years, the number of tree swallows nesting in my bird boxes has
diminished.
