I had a very large (huge) bird with a hooked beak preening on the top of a
dead tree below my house this morning.  It was between myself and the sun so
could not see any distinguishing marks but it was very dark.  

 

Also saw a raven later when I was walking.  Have lots of House Finches at my
feeders now.
