Not a great day for birding yesterday, but plenty of activity at the feeder.

A male Red-bellied Woodpecker made many visits to the suet cakes yesterday, a first time sighting for me in the area.

Also had a juvenile Sharp-shinned Hawk make a run @ some of the ground feeding birds. Had a nice view of the hawk as it perched on top of the thistle feeder. There have been some tell tale signs of accipter success over the last couple of weeks with evidence of junco and bluejay feathers on the ground.
