The movement of robins through this area continues to rack up impressive numbers. Walking my River Rd./N. Thetford Rd. route Wednesday morning produced a count of 75 +/-. A drive up NH Rt. 10 in the afternoon resulted in seeing scores of robins spread out across fields from Whipple Hill Rd. to River Road's junction with Rt. 10 in Orford (about three miles). An estimate of 600 individuals is probably conservative.

Elsewhere, the previously mentioned cornfield on River Rd. near the Lyme bridge had a smattering of Canada geese and no snow geese when I checked it this morning at 11:00 a.m.
