I saw an Eastern Towhee this spring- Tigertown Rd. near the Beaver Pond. Is
it possible they might breed here?

This is further comentary on both Cyndy's question and Gearge Clark's
observation a day ago.

In the 1940's towhees were uncommon in the Upper Valley. But starting in the
1950's, and lasting for thirty or more years, they became fairly common and,
though I lack any hard data, I assumed they nested here. My assumption has been
that the habitat changed from the forties to the fifties and again more
recently.

Incidentally, I had one visit my feeder a few years ago in mid-January. (I live
in residential Hanover.)

Mike
