This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Monday, March 12th, 
2018.



A SANDHILL CRANE continues to be seen in Rollinsford, and was last reported 
from near Main Street on March 10th.



A DOVEKIE was seen at Pulpit Rocks in Rye on March 7th.



A THICK-BILLED MURRE was seen off of Pulpit Rocks in Rye, 1 was seen at Rye 
Harbor State Park, and 1 was seen in Hampton Harbor, all on March 6th.



A pair of HARLEQUIN DUCKS was seen along the coast in Rye on March 6th.



A male BARROW’S GOLDENEYE was seen on March 7th, and 2 RED-NECKED GREBES 
were seen on March 6th, all on the Connecticut River in Hinsdale. There was 
a report of 2 CACKLING GEESE from here on the 12th.



7 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 4 NORTHERN SHOVELERS, 4 GADWALL, and 12 GREEN-WINGED 
TEAL were seen at Bodwell Farm in East Kingston on March 11th.



65 LESSER SCAUP and 40 RING-NECKED DUCKS were seen at the Exeter Wastewater 
Treatment Plant on March 11th. The treatment plant is only open to birders 
on weekends when no workers are present.



10 RED CROSSBILLS were reported from Lempster, 7 were reported from Enfield, 
4 were reported from Hanover, 4 were reported from Newport, 2 were reported 
from Penacook, and 3 were reported from Hancock, all during the past week.



6 WHITE-WINGED CROSSBILLS were seen at Little Cherry Pond at the Pondicherry 
National Wildlife Refuge in Jefferson on March 5th, and 2 were reported from 
Lempster on the 12th.



A female BLACK-BACKED WOODPECKER was seen on the Mud Pond Trail at the 
Pondicherry National Wildlife Refuge on March 8th.



FOX SPARROWS were seen in Hollis, Troy, Lee, and Dover during the past week.



A RUBY-CROWNED KINGLET was reported from Errol on March 5th.



An AMERICAN KESTREL was seen in Exeter on March 11th.



A flock of 14 TURKEY VULTURES was seen soaring over Keene on March 12th.



During the past week there have been multiple reports of NORTHERN FLCKER, 
KILLDEER, AMERICAN WOODCOCK, RED-WINGED BLACKBIRD, and COMMON GRACKLE.
