Some years ago, my wife and I hiked the Skyland trail from Alexandria 4
Corners
to the top of Mt. Cardigan. In broad daylight, we flushed a couple of
Nighthawks
on the top of Crane Mt., which is several peaks south of Cardigan. I had
a
conversation with Pam Hunt after that, and was told that Nighthawks were
a regular
breeder up there. Apparently, they still are.
