The annual Hanover Conservation Council Hawk watch on Balch Hill in Hanover was
Saturday. It was not ideal conditions at 11am with SSW winds and temps in the
high 80s. However everytime the wind turned ever so slightly to due west, we had
a hawk come by. Until the big black clouds approached. Pretty amazing how that
all works.

2 Redtails
3 Kestrels
1 Sharp shinned
--- end of quote ---
I'd like to add that at one point one of the redtails and the sharp-shinned were
visible simultaneously, showing remarkably well the big differrence in size, the
big difference in shape, and the difference in the way they combine flapping
wings and soaring. Great display!
