This morning (March 7) a male Common Grackle joined about a dozen Blue Jays
foraging in the backyard feeding area here in Norwich village. This was my first
sighting of a Common Grackle in Norwich this year.

(The earliest "spring" date on which I have seen a Common Grackle in Norwich was
on February 26 in 2002.)
