There was a brilliantly marked White-throated Sparrow that had his
headlamps on full-beam at the SE corner of the Ray School property
today around noon. He was accompanied by a more subdued plumaged female.

Yesterday, to the west of the Ray School, was a Brown Thrasher singing
away near the top of a leafless tree.

The Evening Grosbeaks persist in the same neighborhood, as does a
small flock of Cedar Waxwings.

Around home in Weathersfield, the goldfinches are still hoovering up
the birdseed. A few Purple Finches displace them at the feeders from
time to time.
