Early this afternoon, an unexpected Pine Warbler was visiting a suet feeder at the southeastern corner of the intersection of Route 5 and Kendall Station Road in Norwich, VT. Features of that fairly drab bird included a relatively thin bill characteristic for a warbler, relatively inconspicuous whitish wingbars, some yellow on the upper chest, underpart streaking, and a pale area on the side of the neck. Other species visiting that suet included 2 Downy Woodpeckers and a White-breasted Nuthatch.
Other species also along the paved part of Kendall Station Road included 9 Mallards, Blue Jays, a crow, chickadees, titmice, an American Tree Sparrow, juncos, and a goldfinch.
