Redpolls periodically visited our feeders today in Norwich, with the
maximum flock of ~50.
One stood out, a slightly larger, lighter female. After watching it for
a few minutes and looking at a number of photos, I'm calling it a female
*Hoary Redpoll*.
I believe this bird is the Southern subspecies (Carduelis hornemanni
/exilipes). /Any thoughts?
