Our redpoll population has swelled to near 40. Late this afternoon I
went to top off the feeders which still had plenty of seed. I was
bombarded by redpolls. One sat on the container I was using to fill
the feeder, just inches from my face. Three perched on my hand
fighting one another, one on my shoulder. As I stood there they just
kept coming and landing on me. Both times I was wearing a red hat. I
want to go out one day without it and see if it makes a difference as
I have never seen this level of tameness from "my" redpolls.
