This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Tuesday, November 9th, 
2010.



A TOWNSEND'S WARBLER was discovered in Westmoreland on November 7th and was 
seen again on the 9th. To look for the bird, traveling north on Route 12 
from Westmoreland, go one-half mile past the intersection with Route 63, and 
just before the "Amish Furniture Store", turn left on River Road North. 
After one-half mile, the landscape opens up into a large cornfield on the 
left just past the Westmoreland/Walpole town line. There will be a 35mph 
speed limit sign on the right side of the road. The warbler was seen between 
this sign and a dirt drive a few hundred feet farther on the right. Please 
stay on the public road, as this is private property.



An ORANGE-CROWNED WARBLER was seen on Pitcher Street in Keene on November 
5th.



2 GOLDEN EAGLES were seen at Pack Monadnock in Peterborough on November 6th.



2 HARLEQUIN DUCKS were seen from Odiorne Point State Park on November 7th.



A RAZORBILL was seen from Pulpit Rocks in Rye, and a BLACK GUILLEMOT was 
seen in Rye Harbor, all on November 7th.



An ICELAND GULL, a LESSER BLACK-BACKED GULL, and a COMMON TERN      were 
seen in Hampton Harbor on November 7th.



2 BLACK-LEGGED KITIWAKES were seen at Ragged Neck in Rye on November 7th.



A HUDSONIAN GODWIT was seen at Hampton Beach State Park in Rye, and a 
PECTORAL SANDPIPER was reported from Seabrook, both on November 6th.



20 WHITE-RUMPED SANDPIPERS and a NORTHERN PINTAIL were seen at Hampton Beach 
State Park on November 8th.



32 HORNED GREBES were reported from Lake Winnipesaukee on November 9th, and 
3 LESSER SCAUP were seen on Hawkins Pond in Holderness on the 7th.



3 RED-NECKED GREBES and a WHITE-WINGED SCOTER were seen on Spofford Lake in 
Chesterfield on November 9th.



Over 100 BLACK SCOTERS were seen on Lake Massabesic on November 6th.



11 BRANT were seen migrating along the coast on November 6th.



15 LONG-TAILED DUCKS were seen on Squam Lake on November 6th.



2 NORTHERN PINTAILS, 26 AMERICAN COOTS, 18 BUFFLEHEADS, and a RUDDY DUCK 
were seen on Eel Pond in Rye on November 7th.



Over 700 SNOW BUNTINGS and a LAPLAND LONGSPUR were reported from Hampton 
Beach State Park on November 6th.



3 LAPLAND LONGSPURS, a SNOW BUNTING, 2 WILSON'S SNIPE, and a FISH CROW were 
reported from Concord on November 7th.



50 BOHEMIAN WAXWINGS were seen foraging in trees on Pleasant Street behind

Northway Bank in Berlin on November 4th.



A flock of nearly 30 EVENING GROSBEAKS was reported from East Kingston on 
November 6th, and a flock of 30 was reported from Berlin on the 4th.



A DOVEKIE, 16 NORTHERN FULMARS, 60 GREAT SHEARWATERS, and 2 BLACK-LEGGED 
KITTIWAKES were reported by a birder on a cruise out to Jeffrey's Ledge on 
November 3rd.
