This is the Vermont Rare Bird Alert for June 18, 2007 covering the period
June 11 - 17, 2007.

 

This week's highlight was a pair of SANDHILL CRANES seen along East Warren
Road in Waitsfield on 6/10.  There have been no reported sightings since
this date.

 

A GREAT EGRET was observed at Muddy Brook Marsh in South Burlington on 6/11.

 

Four MUTE SWANS were at Herrick's Cove on 6/14.

 

A MERLIN nest was located in Middlebury this week.

 

A CASPIAN TERN was seen at the LaPlatte River Marsh in Shelburne on 6/11.

 

The YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO is still present in Ira this week.

 

A BLUE-WINGED WARBLER was observed at the Route 4 rest area between
Castleton and West Rutland on 6/13.
