This is New Hampshire Audubon's Rare Bird Alert for Wednesday, July 14th, 
2010.



A MISSISSIPPI KITE was seen in Newmarket, circling over the cemetery at the 
corner of Elm Street and Packers Falls Road, on July 14th.



An ATLANTIC PUFFIN and a BLACK GUILLEMOT were seen at White Island, one of 
the Isles of Shoals, on July 10th. 2,400 pairs of COMMON TERNS, 40 pairs of 
ROSEATE TERNS, and 6 pairs of ARCTIC TERNS are currently nesting on the 
Isles of Shoals.



A LEAST TERN, 2 ROSEATE TERNS, and 45 COMMON TERNS were reported from 
Hampton Harbor on July 10th, and a LEAST TERN was seen off of Seabrook Town 
Beach on July 14th.



A birder on the Granite State Whale Watch out of Rye Harbor reported 25 
WILSONS STORM-PETRELS, 85 GREATER SHEARWATERS, 18 SOOTY SHEARWATERS, a MANX 
SHEARWATER, 3 CORYS SHEARWATERS, and 8 NORTHERN GANNETS on July 8th.



2 LAUGHING GULLS were seen along the coast on July 10th.



A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO was reported on July 10th, and a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO 
was reported on July 8th, both from the same area in Rumney.



A YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOO, a BLACK-BILLED CUCKOO, and a TENNESSEE WARBLER were 
reported from Pitcher Mountain in Stoddard on July 12th.



A NELSON'S SPARROW was seen in Philbrick Pond along Route 1A on the town 
line between Rye and North Hampton.



Over 12 SALTMARSH SPARROWS and 2 AMERICAN BITTERNS were seen in Hampton 
Marsh behind Little Jack's Restaurant on Route 1A in Hampton on July 14th.



A family of 4 MERLINS was seen at the Hanover Golf Course in Hanover on July 
8th.



A PEREGRINE FALCON was seen on the water tower located on Route 101 in 
Hampton on July 14th.



Over 20 CLIFF SWALLOWS were seen at Fort Constitution in New Castle on July 
10th.



An adult male SURF SCOTER was seen off the coast of Hampton just north of 
Great Boar's Head on July 10th.



26 SNOWY EGRETS were seen just south of Rye Harbor on July 10th.
