A singing Blackpoll Warbler along Elm Street here in the village
section of Norwich this morning (May 23) was my first sighting of that
species for 2009.

My earliest spring date ever for this species in Norwich was on May
17, 2001, but my other first spring records in Norwich have all been
in the last part of May, ranging from May 24 (in 1999) to May 31 (in
2007).
