Even though my senses were dulled by the fog of flu and the overall 
miserableness of the weather Friday afternoon, they couldn't miss the song 
sparrow's voice. He was perched on a rose branch in my S. Strafford 
frontyard, his song penetrating the snow and sleet and slop.
