REPLY: I suspect that most roosters don't like to think about who will be
cooking "for" them, but would be thinking about what a Barred Owl might like
for breakfast.

Subject: [UVB] the owl and the ???

This morning while on a very very early morning hike, I heard a
rooster crow "a doodle dooooooooo" immediately followed by a bird
answering in exactly the same phrasing and rhythm, "who cooks for
yooooouuuuuuu!" Yep, a barred owl. This dialog went on and on. I
stopped and listened for a half hour, and they were still hollering
back and forth when I continued my hike. This was in Vershire
Heights. Has anyone else witnessed anything like this?
