Today, on a brilliant sunny morning with clear blue skies, about 20
observers looked for birds on the Taylor Parcel and the Cross Road
Farm in Post Mills during a bird walk arranged by the Thetford
Conservation Commission. Among highlights were 1) great views of a
soaring Red-shouldered Hawk, 2) numerous good views of Killdeers, 3) a
loudly singing Brown Thrasher which for many minutes remained out of
sight in the foliage but which later was clearly seen high in a tree
while its presumed mate foraged along the ground nearby, and 4) nice
views of male American Goldfinches. Other bird species found this
morning are also included in the list below.

Special thanks to the Taylor family, Connie Snyder, and Ann Lavanway
for arranging and facilitating a highly enjoyable bird walk.
