I mentioned some time back that I was translating a novel of mine into French.

At the time I wasn't using Antidote but I had the Robert and I have found it tremendously useful.

I did all the hard work with googletranslate - and sometimes I noticed that it wouldn't translate text it deemed politically incorrect.

Electronic translation has the advantage of not missing a sentence when you translate. Since I knew the original text fairly well, I always knew what googletranslate was trying to say.

What is amazing about French is that you can ask people to proofread and even after several readings there are still mistakes. French is an unforgiving language to write.

The book is going to be published by the Rivages/Payot in the spring of 2011.
