I have a MacBook Pro 17’’ with 500 GB which I use now as my main computer. I would like to have a much bigger internal HD but according to Apple vendors that’s the maximum size I can put into it, a larger HD will apparently not be recognized by the controller.

I need a 2.5’’ HD and a couple of months ago I was told that the largest 2.5’’ HDs were 1 TB, so I guess the drive you saw must have been 3.5 ''.

I talked to a man from the Apple Store today and showed him this page:

It’s a 2.5’’ 1 TB SATA disk from Samsung which I would like to install. He said that Apple does not recommend it but it might work.

Does anyone here have a MacBook Pro with more than 500 GB?
