Boy oh boy! I thought our turn was a couple of nights ago, but St. Louis just got NAILED tonight. A powerful tornado just ripped through parts of north and northwest county (I live in far south county, and am safe, if still a little shook up; a second tornado passed by to the south). There is a LOT of damage. We will not have a clue how much until morning. Interstates 70 and 270 are both completely shut down in places because of damage from the storms. Lambert International Airport suffered a direct hit from the tornado. The airport is completely shut down, having suffered a great deal of damage. Some parts of the county seem to have been almost completely wiped out. Just going by the news reports it looks really bad.

As I said, though, I am safe. Down here we missed most of the action, and just got a lot of rain.
