The following response was exactly the answer that I needed, so I am
sharing it with the list so that any others of you can try it.

Laura

Hi Laura;
In order to do the conversion between Simplified and Traditional,
1. Start menu > Settings > Control Panel > Regional Options -- make sure
TC and SC are selected.
2. In MS Word, View > Toolbars > Customize -- Make a new custom toolbar,
and under the Commands tab Categories, select "all". Under the Commands
list scroll down to "Tools TCSCTranslate" and "ToolsSCTCTranslate".
Drag them each to your new custom toolbar, and click the close button.
3. When you select Simplified text in Word, you should now be able to
click on the Traditional button in the toolbar you just made, and it
will pop it over into Traditional.

Hope this helps;
Jan
